A Perfect Brightness of Hope

Sylvie crafted three pieces for this performance as a collaboration with Zion’s Youth Symphony and Chorus. This concert featured songs from the screen, the stage, and sacred spaces as a tribute to the transcendent power of hope, made perfectly bright by Jesus Christ, the Light of the World. Sylvie choreographed pieces to three of the numbers: “The Tree of Life,” “Married Life,” and “Theme from Schindler’s List.” Each took the audience through different emotions and experiences tied to hope ranging from moments of lightness and optimism to times of grief and vulnerability. This choreography matched the lyrical, performative dynamic of the show.
